Heathrow Airport – Reaching Millions
York is already a beloved destination, famous for its rich history, picturesque architecture, and vibrant culture. Now, with headline partner LNER, this high-impact advertising, set to be seen by Heathrow’s global audience, York aims to continue drawing in the international tourists.
The bus wrap features breathtaking imagery of York’s iconic landmarks, including the majestic York Minster, Clifford’s Tower, the Shambles and the River Ouse, inviting travellers to explore its timeless charm and modern offerings.
Heathrow Airport is the UK’s busiest and a significant international hub, with over 79 million passengers passing through its terminals in 2023. The new York bus wrap is set to reach an international audience, ensuring that York is at the forefront of travellers’ minds as they arrive in the UK.

As part of the global marketing campaign, York will also take centre stage at this year’s World Travel Market London (WTM). One of the most influential events in the global travel industry, York’s presence underscores its commitment to attracting international visitors.
York will be showcased as the must-visit destination of the year, highlight its award-winning attractions, cultural festivals and culinary delights that blend the old and the new. Industry professionals, media, and travel enthusiasts attending WTM will have the opportunity to connect with the Visit York team and discover why York continues to be a top choice for travellers.
First launched in 1980, WTM London now facilitates £2.8 billion in industry deals and has around 5,000 exhibitors from 182 countries and regions and more than 51,000 participants. This year’s event takes place from 5-7 November 2024 at ExCel, London.
